God calls young people
We departed on 22th of September 2008 and return from Thailand on the 28th of September 2008. We spent about 1 week in Chiang Mai and trained students from Thailand and USA at Pr Pharmor’s Medical Missionary Training Center – “New Life Farm”. Here, Pr Pharmor has been training students to be medical missionaries. The training school was located about 40 minutes away from Chiang Mai city and is surrounded by nature.
There were 15 students that attended the training; 7 students from Thailand and 8 students from the USA. Four of us from Aenon were the trainers. Canny Tay taught prophecy and righteousness by faith, Eugene taught fundamental beliefs of Seventh-day Adventist, Stephen taught how to study the Bible and Jimrod taught on speech and homiletics. We were training the students so that they will be better equipped to share the gospel while they are in the mission field. They were so blessed throughout the 6 days of training; they learn to evangelize to people and were drawn closer to Christ. In addition, we also shared about the 3 angels messages and the sanctuary message. The trainees took notes and paid full attention during the classes. Questions and doubts were clarified with scriptural texts.
The class started in the morning and continued till the night with breaks during meal times. The schedule was packed but the students were managing their time wisely. Students were encouraged to memorize bible text, especially the 3 angel messages recorded in Revelation 14:6-12. Students also were given quizzes to evaluate their understanding of the contents in each class; especially on prophecy and righteousness by faith. The quizzes were not only to evaluate their understanding of the contents but also as a form of revision and to reinforce memory.
The most interesting moment was the altar call which was made at the last class. Brother Canny was moved by the Holy Spirit and challenged the students to rededicate themselves to God’s service. Many hands were raised acknowledging and taking up the challenge with sincerity to rededicate at least 2 years of their life for God. All these young people were so talented; some of them were nurses, teachers and even cameraman. They had surrendered their life for Him.
“Young men are wanted. God calls them to missionary fields.”(CE 206.2) Converted young people will finish the last race, they will be the 144,000 and in following Jesus they will bruise Satan for the last time!
After the training, they were divided to different groups and went to different villages. It is time for them to put in practice what they have learned throughout their training in that school.
